What is ylang ylang oil?

Taken from the cananga odorata range of flowers, the Ylang Yalng is a powerful tropical tree. It’s become known for its potency across India and through various parts of the world including Malaysia and Indonesia. It’s also commonly found in Australia. This powerful source of natural care and cleansing has become a major part of the alternative medicine industry.

Ylang Ylang oil itself has a very long history of being used in medicinal care. It’s got a long history of being used for its exotic and endearing scent, but also for helping to soothe body and mind. How useful, though, would this particular oil be to improve the condition of your hair and scalp?

Like any other essential oil placed directly onto the scalp, be sure to dilute the essential oil first with a carrier oil such as castor oil. This can avoid the scalp being damaged or hurt during treatment, which should allow the hair to breathe naturally and effectively.
